Abstract

ABSTRACT

This paper explores the synergistic effect of the determinants of access to bank financing by Small and Medium Sizes Enterprises (SMEs) in Cameroon. The methodology of analysis is the binomial logistic regression applied on data collected by a questionnaire administered to a sample of 78 SMEs. Three main results stem from this research. Firstly, the bank-firm relationship measured by the duration of the relationship and the number of banks in a financing relationship with the firm has a positive and significant effect on access to bank credit. Secondly, the company's ownership structure has a significant impact on access to bank financing. Thirdly, the profile of the manager captured through his age has a significant influence on SMEs access to bank financing.
