For a long time, SMEs have been considered by management researchers and politicians as a negligible form of organization. Today, with the globalization of economies, these companies are at the heart of the politicians and of the concerns of researchers in management sciences. In this type of business, the manager almost exclusively assumes administrative, financial and social responsibilities and is actively involved in the day-to-day management of his business (HadjTaieb, 1999). It is from this perspective that we have been led to analyze the influence of the manager's profile on the level of bank indebtedness of SMEs. For this we considered the proximity of the leader with the banker, the conservatism of the leader, the managerial age and training to explain it. At the end of this analysis, we first found that the manager's proximity to the banker has a positive influence on the level of bank indebtedness. Then, conservatism has a negative influence on the latter. And in the end, neither the managerial age nor the training (level and type) of the manager has a significant influence on the level of bank indebtedness of SMEs.
