The purpose of this paper is to explain performance (social and environmental) by doing a positivist reading on the basis of the hypothetico-deductive approach to determine whether family ownership and the structure of family SMEs in Cameroon influence social performance and the environment of family SMEs. The study is based on a questionnaire survey of a sample (by reasoned choice) of 67 SMEs. The achievement of our objectives passes by a factorial analysis, the test of independence of the Chi-square and the logistic regression (estimate of the parameters). These analyzes have allowed us to determine that family ownership has a positive and significant influence on social and environmental performance, and the structure of SMEs positively and significantly influences environmental performance and has no effect on social performance.
